Rhone is a mission-driven entrepreneur who has worked in solar energy for more than 20 years. He is a recognized international leader in solar with deep connections throughout the industry and a long track record of success in building businesses throughout that make a meaningful impact in addressing climate change.

Rhone is curently President, Founder and Chief Revenue Officer at Solarlytics, Inc., a Silicon Valley power electronics company that develops hardware and software to increase the production of energy from solar power plants. He helped the company raise $30 million to develop and commercialize the technology.

Previously Rhone was President and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), the national trade organization for America's solar energy industry. During his 12-year tenure at SEIA, he helped the solar industry achieve record-breaking growth, becoming one of the fastest-growing sectors in the United States with more than 8,000 companies and 260,000 employees. As the association's leader, Rhone worked with the top CEOs throughout the solar value chain to develop and implement the industry's strategic plan, which helped grow solar in the U.S. from 52 MW to more than 16,000 MW/yr—over 12 years.

While serving as the head of SEIA, Rhone led all federal and state advocacy on behalf of the $25 billion U.S. solar energy industry, creating the 30 percent solar investment tax credit, the 1603 Treasury Grant Program, 48C manufacturing tax credit, standardized retail net energy metering, aggressive renewable portfolio standards and scores of other forward-looking federal and state policies. In total, his work has provided the industry with more than $50 billion of support.

Rhone holds a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University's Maxwell School, a Master of Environmental Engineering from SUNY ESF, and a B.S. in economics from the University of Michigan. He currently serves on the board of directors of BrightNight Energy a utility-scale solar developer, and Cygnus Solar, a HJT solar cell manufacturer. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife, Lisa, and two children in a solar-powered house that has provided 75+/- percent of their electricity for the last 19 years.
