Adam Schafer is the Head of Supply Chain Strategy at CHIPS for America in the US Department of Commerce.
He is currently responsible for upstream and downstream strategic evaluations across the CHIPS program, bringing Semiconductor manufacturing to the US. Adam covers Supply Chain Risks & Resilience, ESG, and Chemical Compliance. He is also leading the execution of the second CHIPS NOFO, executing the semiconductor supply chain portfolio.
Adam joined CHIPS in May 2023, following a 22-year career at Intel corporation as a process engineer, leading the Yield group in equipment supply chain management, and most recently, as the Senior Director for Supply Chain Responsibility.
Adam received his B.S. in Chemistry & Philosophy from SUNY Oswego in 1994, and his M.S. & Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Washington in 2000.
