Lisa Hansmann is a Principal at Engine Ventures, where she focuses on investment in climate and the clean energy transition. She began her career as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company. She then joined Senator Elizabeth Warren's team as an economic policy staffer, focusing on issues ranging from competition to green industrial strategy. Lisa subsequently held several roles in economic policy and implementation in the Biden White House: serving as a Senior Advisor for economic policy at the National Economic Council, and then as a Special Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor in the Chief of Staff's office, where she drove implementation of the Administration's Investing in America agenda. Lisa’s research has focused on the intersection of clean energy and industrial strategy, most recently at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as Senior Advisor to Innovation Fellow Brian Deese. Lisa holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from Yale University.
